“NEW NEIGHBORHOODS” FACILITATES COVID-19 VACCINES TO ITS RESIDENTS

On Wednesday, February 24th and Saturday February 27th, New Neighborhoods along with Bethel AME Church, Community Health Center Inc., and the City of Stamford teamed up to get as many residents of New Neighborhoods as well as those in the community vaccinated for the COVID-19 virus. Our residents and our community are important to us and we want to make sure we provide them with the best services possible.

New Neighborhoods’ staff volunteered to help facilitate administration of the vaccine as well as inform those in the community that the
vaccines would be available. On Wednesday, February 24th the vaccine was administered to residents in our properties which took place in Belltown, Atlantic, and Marshall Commons.

Our staff helped in taking down information as needed, while the licensed practitioners administered the vaccine. Our staff also went out the next day and passed out flyers to those in the community as a reminder that on Saturday, February 27th, vaccines would be administered at Bethel AME Church by Community Health Center Inc. A total of 500 flyers were given throughout the Stamford community.

Saturday’s event also included a Q&A event to help the Stamford community understand the vaccine, as well as answer any questions and address any concerns individuals may have had. There were nurse practitioners as well doctors involved in answering questions and made many individuals feel safe in taking the vaccine.

These events were a great success and we hope to have more as it comes time for each new age group to receive their vaccines. Many Stamford residents felt this was so great that they even told their family and friends about the event.
