New Neighborhoods’ 7th Annual Winter Warm-Up

New Neighborhoods’ 7th Annual Winter Warm-Up

The giving came early for residents of New Neighborhoods. The non-profit, affordable housing organization hosted their 7th Annual
Winter Warm-Up that started on Monday, December 14th and has span over two weeks. The event consists of a coat distribution at every one of their housing complexes to make sure everyone has a warm coat this winter.

Although COVID-19 presented it’s challenges, the employees of New Neighborhoods made an enormous effort to keep this event running. The staff kindly went door to door and delivered the winter coats to comply with social distancing regulations. Margarette Williams the Assistant Manager/Service Coordinator at the Martin Luther King Jr. Apartments said, “..this personalized service by our property managers and staff, made the event even more special for our residents.”

New Neighborhoods was able to donate a total of 223 coats to their residents this year. This included 138 adult coats and 64 children coats. The event was a huge success that even a couple dozen were able to be donated to shelters in the community.

Coats purchased were made possible through the New Neighborhoods’ Winter Warm-Up Fund. This could not have been done without the help from others in the community. New Neighborhoods appreciates your contribution and the staff is hopeful that it may continue with this event year after year.
