New Neighborhoods’ 6th Annual Winter Warm-Up

Christmas came early for New Neighborhoods’ Martin Luther King Jr. Apartments residents. On Thursday, December 13th New Neighborhoods employees and volunteers gathered to share some warmth.
Martin Luther King Jr. residents enjoyed light refreshments and a photo booth as they picked out new coats. Not only did New Neighborhoods’ residents receive new winter jackets but all children in attendance received small gifts to kick off the holiday season. Thanks to many generous donations, New Neighborhoods was able to supply over 60 residents with coats and sweaters to help prepare them for the chilly months ahead.
Rosebud Davis was one of the many residents helping to spread the holiday joy. A resident of Martin Luther King Jr. Apartments for 35 years, Rosebud enjoys doing nice things for her fellow tenants.
Kelhens Cherine, New Neighborhoods Administrative Assistant, described the success of the event. This event is very important to our outreach program. We are always looking for new ways to reach residents and members of the community. We’re really just trying to emphasize the ‘Neighbor’ in New Neighborhoods.”
The giving doesn’t stop there, New Neighborhoods will host the annual coat distribution event at every one of their housing complexes. Employees of New Neighborhoods have also decided to go out into the Stamford areas where the homeless are known to be in order to provide warmth during these cold outdoor holiday nights.
