New Neighborhoods Inc.’s (NNI) residents got a break from the cold to enjoy hot food and a warm and welcoming environment at the annual Winter Warm-Up event hosted by NNI.

The event was held at NNI’s Martin Luther King Jr. Apartments in Stamford, CT. Pajamas, gloves, scarves, hats, and over 60 coats were handed out to residents and their children in preparation for the chilly months ahead.

Jean Johnson, a Tenant Advocate for NNI said, “This is one event I am very proud of because we have over 60 coats to give out this year as some resident cannot afford to get themselves or their children decent coats for the winter. This year’s Winter Warm-up is possible thanks my great co-workers for helping to put this all together, especially Melanie Navarro, Paula Ditimi, and Vonda Pommills.

Santa made a surprise appearance to greet children as residents enjoyed a raffle, chili, refreshments, face painting, and a photo booth.
